SAN MARCOS, Texas – UTSA returns to the win column with a 5-0 victory over Texas State at Bobcats Tennis Complex Tuesday.
Laura Munoz-Baroja, Keegan McCain and Jasmin Starr each recorded a triumph in singles and doubles action. Baroja teamed with Catalina Cabrique to claim a 6-0 victory, while McCain and Starr secured the doubles point with a 6-2 triumph.
"We came out very strong today clinching the doubles point," head coach Ki Kroll said. "I was very happy with our aggressive play. We kept our energy high in singles action and came away with a win against an always tough Texas State team."
Resounding triumphs by Starr and Baroja pushed the Roadrunners to the cusp of snapping a four-match losing streak. Needing one win out of the final three matches, UTSA held 1-0 advantages in two of them. McCain and Laura Cabrera finished off their respective opponents simultaneously and ending the match.

The Roadrunners return home Sunday for a doubleheader before heading to Florida next week. UTSA hosts UTEP at 10 a.m. and Laredo CC at 2 p.m.
