DELAND, Fla. – Stetson outlasted UTSA 5-2 in women's tennis action at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center Wednesday.
The Hatters clinched the early 1-0 advantage when the No. 1 pair, Danel Ashirova and Lucie Renault, upended the Roadrunners top duo of Jasmin Starr and Keegan McCain 6-4.
Starr and McCain roared back in singles play, catapulting their team into a 2-1 lead with straight-set triumphs over their respective foes. Momentum swapped sides and Stetson rattled off victories in the final four contests.
With their victories in singles play, Starr owns an impressive 12-1 mark, while McCain is 10-3.
