MATCHUP: The Roadrunners trail the all-time series 37-59 with a 14-29 mark in San Marcos, Texas. The Bobcats took last season's series 2-1, taking the first two meetings, including a 14-1 home victory April 2. UTSA responded with an 8-5 triumph at home when the Bobcats were ranked No. 30, April 30. This is the first of three meetings in the I-35 showdown in 2020 with Texas State visiting Roadrunner Field March 18. UTSA makes the trek back to San Marcos April 28.

LAST TIME OUT: UTSA was on the wrong side of a 1-0 decision in the finale of its three-game weekend series finale at UT Arlington Sunday. The lone run in the shortest game of the season – two hours and 15 minutes – occurred on an errant throw by the Roadrunners defense. Jacob Jimenez made his second start and was magnificent, tossing a career-high 6.1 innings, surrendering three hits and two walks, while fanning four. Hunter Mason was the hard-luck loser, falling victim to the unearned run. He was charged with the lone tally on one hit, three walks and striking out one.

ABOUT UTSA: The Roadrunners are hitting .272 (144-for-530) as a team with 25 doubles, four triples and 11 homers, while the pitching staff holds opponents to a .235 average (119-for-506), with 18 doubles, five triples and six home runs. UTSA is 8-0 when leading after seven innings and 9-0 when taking a lead to the ninth. Leyton Barry leads the team in batting average (.383), slugging percentage (.681) and on-base percentage (.444). Bryan Sturges paces the squad with 16 runs and 15 RBIs, while Dylan Rock's 20 hits are two more than Sturges for the team lead. The Roadrunners are in the midst of a four-game losing streak after being swept at UT Arlington over the weekend. This is the longest stretch since dropping five in succession from March 31-April 7, 2019.
