Steve Henson to coach barefoot on Sunday in support of Samaritan’s Feet

  • Samaritan's Feet has been active with college basketball coaches since 2007.

SAN ANTONIO -- UTSA men's basketball head coach Steve Henson will be supporting the charity cause Samaritan's Feet and will be coaching in his bare feet on Sunday as the Roadrunners host UAB at 2 p.m. at the Convocation Center. 
 
Henson, UTSA's four-year head man, is taking part in raising awareness to the worldwide issue of children without shoes. The foundation has been partnering with college basketball coaches since 2007. Including all levels, over 3,000 coaches have joined the Samaritan's Feet platform by coaching without shoes. 
 
The Mission of Samaritan's Feet is to serve and inspire hope by providing shoes to children in need. Since its founding in 2003, Samaritan's Feet and its partners have distributed more than 7 million pairs of shoes in 108 countries and over 400 United Stats cities.
