MATCHUP: The Roadrunners make their first trip to Lamar in almost seven years, last playing in Beaumont, Texas April 17, 2013. UTSA is 8-15 all-time at Lamar, including 1-4 in the last five visits. Overall, the Roadrunners are 6-4 in the last ten meetings, including a 25-2 decision in seven innings at Roadrunner Field April 9, 2019. After allowing a run in the top of the first, UTSA responded with 19-consecutive runs, including 13 in the home half of the first.
LAST TIME OUT: The Roadrunners fell by a 7-3 decision against UIW in the finale of the Irish Alamo Classic at Nelson W. Wolff Stadium Sunday. Despite the loss, UTSA went 3-1 with two wins over Toledo and a 4-1 triumph over Notre Dame, claiming the trophy.
Lamar is 3-4 after dropping the final two games of the three-game series at Texas State over the weekend. The Cardinals are 2-1 at home this season, taking the first two contests against Rhode Island opening weekend.
