Roadrunners travel east this week

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's basketball team travels east to play Marshall and WKU this week. The Roadrunners take on the Thundering Herd on Thursday at 5 p.m. CT and face the Lady Toppers Saturday at 3 p.m.
 
All-time series against Marshall

  • Marshall leads the series 5-2
  • The last meeting between the two squads was Feb. 2, 2019 when the Thundering Herd won 79-72 in overtime
  • The Roadrunners are 1-3 in Huntington, W.Va.

  • WKU leads the series 4-2
  • The last matchup was Jan. 31, 2019 when the Lady Toppers won 81-62 in San Antonio
  • UTSA is 0-2 in Bowling Green

 
Scouting UTSA
UTSA enters the weekend with a 6-16 overall record and is 2-9 in C-USA action.
 
The Roadrunners are coming off a 47-67 loss to Charlotte on Saturday.
 
Senior Evelyn Omemmah led the team with 14 points, while Mikayla Woods recorded six boards.
 
Woods leads the team with 15 points and 5.8 rebounds a game.
 
Scouting Marshall
Marshall comes into the contest with a 9-13, 4-7 C-USA record.
 
The Thundering Herd recently lost to Louisiana Tech, 50-60, last Saturday in Ruston.
 
Marshall has conference wins over North Texas (68-59), UAB (61-56), Florida Atlantic (85-75) and Southern Miss (80-65).
 
Savannah Wheeler leads the team with 13.5 points a game.
 
Scouting WKU
WKU enters the game with a 16-6, 8-3 C-USA record.
 
The Lady Toppers are on a six-game winning streak with their most recent victory over Southern Miss (81-65). The only three conference losses were to Rice, Old Dominion and North Texas.
 
Western Kentucky is led Raneem Elgedawy, who's been named C-USA Player of the Week twice this season, averaging 17.1 points and 10.4 rebounds a game.
