SAN ANTONIO -- For the fourth time on the year, UTSA men's basketball junior guard Jhivvan Jackson has been named Conference USA Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Jackson, a native of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, earned his fourth C-USA Player of the Week accolade after a prolific two-game stretch on the road last week. The six-foot scoring dynamo totaled 70 points in two games combined, including a 45-point outing in an overtime win at Old Dominion on Thursday.

A product of Euless-Trinity High School in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Jackson ranks second in college basketball with 27 points per game, adding six rebounds per outing to rank second among all NCAA player six-feet and under. Jackson has nine games in 2019-20 with at least 30 points and has scored 20 or more in 24 of 25 games.

On Thursday, Jackson exploded for 28 points in the first half at Old Dominion to lead UTSA to a 17-point halftime lead, his most points scored in a single period in his career. After the Monarchs rallied to force overtime, Jackson scored nine of UTSA's 14 points to secure the win in extra time. His 45 points marked his second 40+ point outing of the year and the fourth of his career, after setting a career high with 46 points at Western Kentucky last year, and tied Keaton Wallace's 45-point outing at Marshall in 2018-19, which ranked as the third-most points in C-USA single-game history.

On Saturday, Jackson totaled 25 points and eight rebounds in 36 minutes at Charlotte. He was 10 of 11 from the charity stripe and was 6 of 7 from inside the arc.

UTSA (11-14, 5-7 C-USA) returns to action on Thursday, playing host to Marshall at 8 p.m. at the Convocation Center. The game will be televised live on CBS Sports Network and will be live on Ticket 760-AM and goUTSA.com.
