TUCSON, Ariz. — Led by 2-under-par rounds from Will Adams and Hunter Bott, the UTSA men's golf team moved up two spots on the final day of the Arizona Intercollegiate, which concluded Tuesday at Sewailo Golf Club (par 71/7,292 yards).

Adams and Bott each carded a 69 to help the Roadrunners tally a 1-under 283 — their best round of the 54-hole tournament — and move into 10th place in the final team standings with an 875. UTSA moved past Washington State (881) and ULM (877) and ended up just nine shots behind No. 44 Long Beach State.

After opening with a 72-73—145 on Monday, Clark, a senior from Mansfield, carded his second straight 2-over-par round on the strength of birdies on the 527-yard, par-4 sixth and 638-yard, par-5 10th holes.

Fanfelle, a sophomore from San Antonio, followed his 72-73—145 Monday effort with a 73 that featured birdies on Nos. 6, 9 and 10.

Chad Sewell tied for 41st after posting a 6-over 219 behind a tournament-best 41 pars. The junior from Conroe notched a one-shot improvement in each of his three rounds during the event, following a 74-73—147 on Monday with a 72 that included 16 pars and a birdie on the 593-yard, par-5 eighth hole.

Bott finished in a tie for 61st with a 225. The freshman from Montgomery bounced back from a 75-81—156 on Monday with a 69 that was buoyed by four birdies, three as part of a 32 on the front nine.

Adams shared 70th place with a 228 (79-80-69), as the sophomore out of Odessa Permian High School wrote down four birdies during his 2-under-par final round on Tuesday.

Competing as an individual, Adam House led all Roadrunners by tying for 15th place with a 1-over 214. The senior from Rockwall opened with a 68-69—137 — tied for the eighth-best 36-hole score in program history — before finishing with a 77 on Tuesday.

Host and 11th-ranked Arizona captured the team title with an 831 to place ahead of No. 12 Baylor (840) and No. 17 Washington (852) in the top three of the 14-team field that included five nationally ranked squads.

The Roadrunners will return to the course on Feb. 16-18 when they travel to Humble, Texas, for the All-American Intercollegiate.
