SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA softball team opens its home schedule on Wednesday when it hosts No. 16 Baylor at 6 p.m. at Roadrunner Field.
All-time series
The Roadrunners and the Bears are meeting for the 40th time in program history with Baylor leading the series 26-13. UTSA is 6-8 at home against the Bears. The last meeting between the teams was March 14, 2017 when the Roadrunners lost 2-8 in Waco.
Scouting UTSA
The Roadrunners enter the contest 1-3 after opening the season at the Bobcat Classic hosted by Texas State.
UTSA started the season 3-2 victory over Texas State on Feb. 7. The Roadrunners fell to Abilene Christian, 6-5 in eight innings and North Dakota State 6-2 on Saturday. UTSA closed out the Bobcat Classic with a 4-0 loss to Colorado State.
Scouting Baylor
No. 16 Baylor comes into the day with a 3-2 record after competing in the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge Feb. 7-10.
The Bears have victories over No. 9 South Carolina (4-1), North Carolina (10-9) and Liberty (6-1).
