Traylor inks Isaiah Davis on Friday

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA head football coach Jeff Traylor announced Friday that he has added Isaiah Davis (El Paso, Texas/Pebble Hills HS) to his early signing class, which now includes nine highly decorated players from the state of Texas.
 
Davis, the younger brother of current UTSA offensive lineman Kevin Davis, was a first-team all-district wide receiver at El Paso Pebble Hills High School in 2019. He caught 58 passes for 912 yards and 14 touchdowns as a senior and he averaged 15.7 yards per reception and 82.9 yards per game, while topping the 100-yard mark in five contests.
 
Dabvis joins JayVeon Cardwell (Cibolo, Texas/Steele HS/Oklahoma State), Dan Dishman (League City, Texas/Clear Falls HS), Jamal Ligon (Tyler, Texas/Lee HS), Jaylon Lott (Carrollton, Texas/Hebron HS), Everett Ornstein (Houston, Texas/Langham Creek HS), Cam Peters (Stafford, Texas/Stafford HS), Asyrus Simon (Humble, Texas/Atascocita HS) and Donyai Taylor (Shiner, Texas/Shiner HS) in the early signing class.
 
Of the nine players from the Lone Star State, four are from the Greater Houston Area, two hail from the San Antonio area and one each come from the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, East Texas and El Paso.
 
The early signing class includes four offensive players, three who are projected for the defensive side of the ball, one athlete and one specialist.
 
Eight of the early signees come from the high school ranks, while Cardwell is a redshirt sophomore transfer from Oklahoma State.
 
Today is the final day of the early signing period and National Signing Day is Wednesday, Feb. 5.
