The two programs competed against each other as members of the Southland Conference from 1991-2011, combining to win four regular-season championships and five-tournament titles during that span. UTSA won the 1999 regular-season title, the 2000 and 2010 tournament championships. UT Arlington finished with the best record in 1992, 1998 and 2002 and adding tournament titles in 1992, 2001 and 2002. The teams moved to the Western Athletic Conference for the 2012 campaign before going to separate leagues in 2013. UTSA went 13-5, good for a second-place finish in 2012, while the Mavericks posted a 5-13 league mark and ending the campaign in eighth. The teams met just once since the teams parted ways, with the Roadrunners joining Conference USA and UT Arlington becoming a member of the Sun Belt Conference.
