Roadrunners close season with loss at UTEP

EL PASO, Texas – The UTSA soccer team closed the 2019 season with a 1-0 loss at UTEP Friday night.
 
UTSA ended the season with a 8-8-1, 4-6-0 C-USA record, while UTEP improved to 10-6-2, 5-4-1 C-USA on the season.
 
Through the first half, the teams remained scoreless. UTSA posted nine shots with two on target, while UTEP had five.
 
In the 82nd minute, Tessa Carlin shot from right outside the goal box as the ball slipped passed the keeper to take the lead and capture the win.
 
Abby Kassal led the team with six shots with three on goal. Jil Schneider recorded two saves on the day.
 
UTSA finished the season with a .500 winning percentage, which is the best winning percentage since joining Conference USA and since the 2011 season.
