Soccer ends win streak at ODU

NORFOLK, Va. – The UTSA soccer team ended its win streak after a 3-0 loss at Old Dominion Thursday evening.
 
The Roadrunners fall to 7-7-1,  3-5-0 C-USA, while the Monarchs improve to 9-3-4, 3-3-2 C-USA on the season.
 
Neither team scored in the first half, but UTSA posted two shots in the first half and ODU had 15.
 
In the 53rd minute, Allie Brimmer put ODU on the board with a goal as she shot from the top of the box and found the far corner.
 
Just seven minutes later, Kyra Ricks added the second goal for the Monarchs when she took the ball from the Roadrunners and smashed the ball as it went over the goalkeeper's head, hit the crossbar and went into the net.
 
Old Dominion scored the third and final goal of the game in the 77th minute.
 
The Roadrunners posted just four shots in the game, while the Monarchs had 24. Deja Sandoval, Ellis Patterson, Nicole Galan and Kaitlyn Bumgarner each had one shot and Sophie Milich recorded seven saves on the day.
 
UTSA returns to action on Sunday at Charlotte. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. CT.
