Basketball to face Oregon State at The Toyota Center in Houston

SAN ANTONIO – UTSA men's basketball will face off with Oregon State on Dec. 18 at the Toyota Center in Houston, it was announced on Monday.

UTSA will face off with the Beavers as part of a tripleheader at the Toyota Center on Dec. 18. Baylor and UT Martin along with South Florida and Utah State, will round out the event, dubbed The Battleground 2k19, which is organized by U-Sports Group.

The Roadrunners have faced Oregon State once, a 72-64 Beavers win in Corvallis, Ore., in 2016.

The event, dubbed The Battleground 2k19, will also feature Baylor vs. UT Martin and South Florida vs. Utah State. Times and broadcast information has yet to be determined.

Coming off a second-place league finish in 2018-19, UTSA returns a bevy of talent under fourth-year head coach Steve Henson. The Roadrunners boasted the NCAA's top-scoring backcourt duo a year ago, in then-sophomores Jhivvan Jackson and Keaton Wallace. Jackson, a native of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, and a product of Euless Trinity High School, led Conference USA in scoring with 22.9 points per game, despite playing the opening part of the season on a minute restriction. Wallace averaged 20.2 points per game and joined Jackson as an all-district selection. In addition to the scoring punch of the guard duo, UTSA returns forward Byron Frohnen, who has made 100 straight starts to open his career.
