SAN ANTONIO – UTSA volleyball ends the non-conference schedule at the Creeds and Crests Classic, hosted by Texas State in San Marcos, Texas Thursday through Saturday.
The Roadrunners open the tournament vs. I-35 rival Texas State (5-5) Thursday at 6:30 p.m. They clash with Sam Houston State (3-6) in the middle match of Friday's triple header at 5 p.m. and wrap-up the event in the first match Saturday at 11 a.m. against George Washington (5-5).

The Roadrunners dismantled the Cardinals in 67 minutes, taking the first two sets by identical 25-16 tallies before ending the third 25-8. Texas State enters with a 5-5 record after winning four of six on its last road trip.
SCOUTING TEXAS STATE
• The Bobcats average 11.8 kills, 11.3 assists, 1.3 service aces, 13.7 digs and 1.7 blocks per set.
• They are hitting at a .159 clip with 426 kills and 223 errors in 1,273 attempts, while allowing their opponents to average .211 (434-183-1,191)

George Washington won three of four including two of three – over Norfolk State and USC Upstate - at the ECU Pirate Invitational Sept. 13 and 14, before defeating Albany at home Sept. 15.
• The Colonials registered sweeps in all five victories this season and suffered 3-0 defeats in two of their losses.
• George Washington is hitting .155 as a team, converting 384 of 1,163 opportunities with 204 errors. GW averages 11.29 kills, 14.65 digs, 10.09 assists, 2.43 blocks, and 1.62 aces per set.
• Skylar Lott paces the Colonials with 3.39 kills per set, while adding 2.36 digs per set.

• They avoided being swept at the Gamecock Classic in Jacksonville, Ala., with a 3-1 victory over Stetson Sept. 14. They opened the tournament against the host Jacksonville State with a setback 1-3 but were shutout by Mississippi State.
• Despite their record, the Bearkats have a .220 attacking percentage, the highest among UTSA's three opponents. They average 13.54 kills, 12.51 assists, 14.20 digs, 1,61 blocks and 1.03 aces per set.
• Ashley Lewis leads with 26 percent (123 of 474) of the team's kills, averaging 3.51 per set.
• Morgan Janda (186) and Madilyn Miles (182) set the table for SHSU's offense, totaling 368 of the 438 team assists.
