Volleyball hosts UIW Tuesday

• UTSA is 8-1 all-time against UIW, including a seven-game winning streak, dating back to Oct. 14, 1983, which was the Roadrunners first season.
Emily Ramirez's 19 service aces places her third in Conference USA, while her 4.15 digs per set ranks seventh.
• Players will be available to sign autographs after Tuesday's game.
 
Setting the scene
• UTSA looks to extend its three-match winning streak, after defeating SIU-Edwardsville (3-1), Tulsa (3-1) and Houston Baptist (3-2) at the Tulsa Invitational. UIW enters with a 4-6 mark with wins over Louisiana-Lafayette (3-0), Southern (3-0), NIU (3-0) and Niagara (3-1).
• In the lone exhibition game for both sides, UTSA defeated UIW in straight sets 25-15, 25-22, 25-14.
 
Doubling down
• SophomoreKirby Smith owns five of the team's nine double-doubles, including each of the last two matches.
• Freshman Courtney Walters has at least 18 assists in every match this season and leads the team with 206 in nine contests. Her 6.87 assists per set ranks ninth in C-USA.
 
Collecting hardware
• Sophomore Madeline McKay was named MVP of the Tulsa Invitational and senior Brianna McCulloch and freshman Jenna Patton joined her on the all-tournament team.
• McCulloch added her second all-tournament team honor this season, after being named to the SMU Invitational team opening weekend.
• Freshman Bianca Ejesieme garnered all-tournament honors for her performance at the UTSA Classic.
 
Scouting UIW
• Bethany Clapp leads the Cardinals with 117, averaging 3.25 kills per set.
• Pilar Gonzaba averages 7.15 assists per set and registered 236 of the team's 354.
• Alyssa Carlin leads the way with 141 digs, while Carissa McGarity has 27 blocks.
