UTSA to host Lone Star Invitational on Monday-Tuesday at TPC San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men's golf team will host the Lone Star Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 16-17, at TPC San Antonio's AT&T Oaks Course (par 72/7,435 yards).
 
The Roadrunners will welcome 10 other teams to the Alamo City for the 11th edition of the program's annual home tournament. which will be held at the site of the PGA TOUR's Valero Texas Open for the second straight year. Houston, Lipscomb, Little Rock, Louisiana, McNeese State, New Mexico State, Rice, South Alabama, ULM and UT Arlington will compete against UTSA in the two-day, 54-hole, stroke-play event. The field will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday with 8:30 a.m. shotgun starts scheduled for both days.
 
UTSA head coach John Knauer welcomes back six veterans from last year's team that finished second at the Conference USA Championship. Seniors Collin Clark and Adam House, juniors Michael Rome and Chad Sewell and sophomores Will Adams and Christian Fanfelle will join forces with a pair of freshmen newcomers in Hunter Bolt and David Harrison for the Knauer's 12th season at the helm.
 
The Roadrunners are the defending Lone Star Invitational champions after capturing the team title in a rain-shortened, 36-hole event last September. Sean Meehan tied for co-medalist honors with a 4-under-par 140 (68-72), Sewell tied for eighth place (75-70—145) and Clark shared 10th (76-70—146) to help UTSA shoot a 2-over 578 for a two-shot win over Arkansas State.
