Coach Pittman adds Cory Marr to 2019 staff

SAN ANTONIO – Head coach Derek Pittman announced the addition of Cory Marr to the 2019 staff. Marr will serve as the volunteer assistant for the Roadrunners.

"I am really excited to have Cory joining our staff for this fall. He is exactly what we need in a volunteer assistant, someone that is eager to learn, enthusiastic about the game and a person of high character. Cory is someone that will lead a large majority of our pre and post training warm-ups, as well as assist in a multitude of areas on the field. He has already begun fitting in very well with our staff and players as we kickoff preseason and I have no doubt he is going to help make us better every day."

Marr comes to the Alamo City after spending the past year as an assistant coach at Permian High School in Odessa, Texas. He focused on the backline, while also helping out with planning and running training sessi0ons.

He graduated from Dallas Baptist in 2018, where he was a member of the men's soccer team, with a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in management and a minor in sports management.

While at DBU, Marr helped coordinate the International Soccer Ministry, a ministry which brings international students on campus together through the game of soccer, as well as led a weekly bible study through Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Marr will also serve on staff for the Alamo City Soccer Club in administrative and coaching roles while in San Antonio.

He started his position on Aug. 5 when the Roadrunners officially reported for the fall season.

UTSA opens the season hosting UIW for an exhibition on Sunday at noon.
