Clark tabbed 2018-19 C-USA Men’s Golf Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year

DALLAS —UTSA's Collin Clark has added another award to his resumé, as the rising senior has been named 2018-19 Conference USA Men's Golf Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year, the league's Faculty Athletics Representatives (FAR) announced Thursday.

Clark shared the award for the sport of men's golf with Sully Zagerman of Florida Atlantic. The award was voted on by the conference's 14 FARs and is presented to the top student-athlete in each league-sponsored sport based on academic achievement, athletic achievement and service.

Just last week, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) tabbed Clark as a 2018-19 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar.

A native of Mansfield, Texas, Clark ranked third on the team with a 73.17 stroke average during his junior campaign. The Mansfield, Texas, native played in 10 tournaments and registered three top-10 finishes. He collected his first collegiate win at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic in April after firing a 5-under-par 211 (70-68-73), helping the Roadrunners to a runner-up showing. Clark tied for second with a 4-under 212 (74-69-69) at the Louisiana Classics and shared 10th place with a 146 (76-70) to help lead UTSA to the Lone Star Invitational team title.

Clark, who served as president of UTSA's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in 2018-19, earned his bachelor's degree in accounting in May, graduating with a 3.59 GPA. He will begin coursework toward his master's degree in accounting this fall.
