Roadrunners unveil 2019-20 schedule

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA unveiled Wednesday the 2019-20 women's golf schedule, which is headlined by trips to five other states and the program's annual home tournament, the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational.

The Roadrunners will open their 15th season of play and third under two-time Conference USA Coach of the Year Summer Batiste on Sept. 9-10 when they travel to Woodbury, Minn., for the Minnesota Invitational at Prestwick Golf Club.

UTSA then will head to Knoxville, Tenn., for the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship on Sept. 16-17 at Cherokee Country Club.

The Roadrunners have two more fall dates beginning with the Princess Anne Invitational on Oct. 4-6 in Virginia Beach, Va., and ending with the Jim West Challenge on Oct. 20-21 at Kissing Tree Golf Club in San Marcos, Texas.

UTSA will open up the spring slate on Feb. 10-11 with a short trek north on I-35 to Kyle for the Texas State Invitational where the Birds will look to defend their team title at Plum Creek Golf Course.

The Roadrunners then will make the short drive to the Greater Houston Area to compete in the ICON Invitational on Feb. 24-25 at The Woodlands Country Club.

UTSA will host the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational on March 10-11 and it will be held for the first time at San Antonio Country Club. Now in its 11th year of existence and formerly called The Alamo Invitational, it was renamed in 2016 in honor of the late Maryb S. Kauth.

The schedule then will take UTSA to Argyle, Texas, for The Bruzzy on March 30-31 at Lantana Golf Club and on to Baton Rouge, La., for the LSU Tiger Classic on April 4-5 at University Club, where junior Ana Gonzalez will look to defend her individual crown.

The Roadrunners will fly to Fort Myers, Fla., for the C-USA Championship on April 20-22 at Verandah Club. UTSA has won the last two team titles behind medalists Julie Houston (2018) and Gonzalez (2019).

NCAA Regionals will be held May 11-13 and the NCAA Championship is slated for May 18-23 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
