SAN ANTONIO -- UTSA track & field has added Australian sprinter/hurdler Alanah Yukich for the 2019-20 season, it was announced Tuesday by UTSA Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Aaron Fox.
A native of Perth, Australia, Yukich has shined as a prep athlete in both sprints and hurdles. She won the 200 meters in the 2019 Western Australia State Championships in February in Perth, and she also grabbed a gold medal in the 400m and the 400m hurdles at the same event.
"We're very excited to add Alanah to the roster," Fox said. "She has had a very successful prep career and will bring a wealth of experience to our program. She has great potential and a strong drive to improve. We're thrilled to welcome Alanah into the Roadrunner family."
Her personal bests include 24.74 in the 200m, 54.63 in the 400m, 13.98 in the 100m hurdles and 58.39 in the 400m hurdles.
Yukich is the 21st announced member of UTSA's 2019 class, as she joins men's signees Jayton Acosta, Jorge Ayala, Oquendo Bernard, Caleb Brandon, Joel McFarlane, Elliot Moran, Angel Robles, Jake Sauls, Grant Szalek, Jack Turner, Harrison Wade and women's signees Taylor Armstrong, Vera Chinedu, Ana Carolin Da Silva, Ingeborg Gruenwald, Sigrid Kleive, Natasha Purchas, Zoie Reyna, Amaya Scott and Maren Wilms.
