SAN ANTONIO -- UTSA men's tennis has signed Brazilian talent Joao Alcantra to a National Letter of Intent for the 2019-20 season, it was announced by coach Rodrigo da Silva.
"We are thrilled to add Joao to our roster," da Silva said. "He has developed a reputation as a hard worker and the ultimate team player. He will bring a lot of energy to the team room on a daily basis and is capable of having an instant impact on our program."
Alcantra is ranked as a top 10 player in Brazil and No. 624 in the international junior rankings. He has three doubles titles and a pair of runner up finishes in his junior career.
