Grimes and Stacy named to C-USA All-Tournament team

BILOXI, Miss. –UTSA's Hunter Grimes and Ryan Stacy were named to the All-Tournament Team following the conclusion of The First 2019 Conference USA Championship presented by the Air Force Reserve.
 
The duo tied for the most hits with eight apiece and their five runs scored by each Roadrunner placed second.
 
Grimes, a native of Kerrville, Texas, posted a tournament best batting average of .500 (8 for 16), including two doubles and one home run, scoring five runs and driving in three more. His 13 total bases equaled Matt Wallner of Southern Miss for the most in the tournament. Grimes started all four games at shortstop and made one relief appearance on the mound.
 
Stacy, a native of Sugar Land, Texas, went 8 for 17 at the plate in four games, finishing second in batting average at .471. Of his eight hits, four went for two bases, which was two more than any of the other competitors in the tournament. Aided by the four doubles, Stacy's 12 total bases trailed Wallner and Grimes by one.
 
Tournament Champion, Southern Miss, led with six team members, including Wallner, who earned the Most Valuable Player award. Third baseman Danny Lynch, outfielder Fred Franklin, designated hitter Bryant Bowen and starting pitchers Walker Powell and Gabe Shepard joined Wallner on the team. 
 
Florida Atlantic claimed the second most team members with four, including catcher Pedro Pages, second baseman Francisco Urbaez, starting pitcher Mike Ruff and relief pitcher Nick Swan. Marshall's Elvis Peralta rounded out the team.
