Softball travels to Hattiesburg

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The UTSA softball team hits the road once again to play Southern Miss April 6-7.

Saturday's doubleheader starts at 11 a.m. Sunday's game is scheduled for a 10 a.m. first pitch.
 
All-time series
The Roadrunners and the Golden Eagles are meeting for the 21st time and sixth series in program history with Southern Miss leading the series 14-6. The last meeting between the two teams was April 21-22, 2018 when the Golden Eagles won the series 2-1. UTSA is 4-5 in Hattiesburg.
 
Scouting UTSA
UTSA enters the contest after a 13-2 victory over Incarnate Word Wednesday evening.
 
The Roadrunners are 17-18 overall and 6-6 in C-USA action.
 
Celeste Loghman leads the team with a .345 batting average, while Bailee Baldwin leads in home runs with seven. Madison Nelson leads in the circle with an ERA of 4.60.
 
Scouting Southern Miss
Southern Miss enters the weekend 19-16 overall and 5-7 in conference play.
 
The Golden Eagles shutout South Alabama 2-0 Wednesday evening in Mobile, Ala.
 
USM is led by Chase Nelson with a batting average of .349.
