Women's Tennis travels to Houston, Baylor to conclude regular season

 SAN ANTONIO -- The UTSA women's tennis team will hit the road for a pair of matches over the weekend, traveling to face Houston (12-5) on Friday at 2 p.m. at the Barbara Wallace Tennis Center before traveling to Baylor (6-17) on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Hurd Tennis Center. 
 
UTSA (11-10) has won five of its last seven matches entering the weekend tilt, which will conclude the regular-season schedule for the Roadrunners. UTSA will compete in the C-USA Championships from April 18-22 in Houston. 
 
The Roadrunners earned their 11th win of the season on Sunday at UNT, getting a match-clinching singles win from freshman Jasmin Starr (Templestowe, Victoria, Australia). Starr has posted a 10-9 record in singles in the No. 1 spot in the lineup. She has also teamed with Kylee Kato (Kahului, Hawaii) to post a team-leading 10-4 record in doubles, with the pair winning three straight. 
 
Kato leads the team with an 11-6 record in singles, going 5-3 in the No. 3 spot and 6-3 as the No. 4. Graduate student Mariah Plauth (Florianolplis, Brazil) and junior Laura Cabrera (Barcelona, Spain) rank second on the team with 10 singles wins each. 
 
Freshman Sophie Omoworare (Plano, Texas) and Charleen Tiwari (Perth, Australia) rank second on the team with a 7-4 doubles mark. Omoworare has four singles wins and Tiwari owns six wins in singles. 
 
Overall, UTSA is 58-55 in singles and 28-26 in doubles.
