HOUSTON – The UTSA women's tennis team fell to top-seeded Old Dominion in the quarterfinals of the 2019 Air Force Reserve Conference USA Championships on Friday morning, at the campus of Rice University.
UTSA (12-13) fell to the high-octane Monarchs (18-3) in the finale of the 2019 season, the first under head coach Ki Kroll. The Roadrunners ended the year winners in six of their final 11 matches, including a 4-2 win over No. 9 seeded Southern Miss in the opener of the C-USA Championships on Thursday.
The Roadrunners were highlighted by a doubles win from junior Diya Menon (Plano, Texas) and graduate student Mariah Plauth (Florianopolis, Brazil), who claimed a 6-2 win on court three.
UTSA fell in singles on three courts, with the Roadrunners starting Jasmin Starr (Templestowe, Victoria, Australia), Laura Cabrera (Barcelona, Spain), Kylee Kato (Kahului, Hawaii), Plauth, Sophie Omoworare (Plano, Texas) and Charleen Tiwari (Perth, Australia).
