Clark tabbed C-USA Co-Golfer of the Week

DALLAS —UTSA junior Collin Clark has been named Conference USA Men's Go-Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday. All C-USA weekly awards are presented by Top of the World Headwear.

Clark collected his first collegiate win to help lead UTSA to a runner-up finish at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic on April 15-16 in Pearland, Texas. He carded a 5-under-par 211 to become the second Roadrunner to claim medalist honors this season, joining Lone Star Invitational co-champion Sean Meehan.

A native of Mansfield, Texas, Clark entered the final round in second place and one shot off the lead after posting a 6-under 138 (70-68) on the opening day of the 54-hole event. He then turned in a 73 in the final round on the strength of birdies on the par-5 first and par-4 13th holes to hold on for the one-stroke victory ahead of a tie for runner-up honors between Jake Benson of Rice, Zac Owens of Wichita State and Zan Luka Stirn of Arkansas State.

Behind Clark, the Roadrunners carded an 868 (293-289-286) for second place, their fourth straight top-five finish in a stretch that includes a trio of top-three showings.

Clark shared his first career weekly award with Middle Tennessee's Marcus Byrd. It marked the second C-USA Men's Golfer of the Week award of the season for UTSA, as Meehan was honored on Sept. 12, 2018, after sharing medalist accolades at the Lone Star Invitational.

The Roadrunners will return to action next Monday-Thursday, April 22-25, when they travel to Texarkana for the Conference USA Championship.
