This series marks the conclusion of the first half of the 30-game Conference USA schedule for both teams. Through four weeks of league play, the Roadrunners are seventh in the 12-team league with a record of 5-7, while the Monarchs are two games back in 11that 3-9. At the conclusion of the regular season, the top eight teams advance to the Conference USA Baseball Championship.
Fresh off a 25-2 victory over Lamar Tuesday, which the Roadrunners posted season highs in runs and hits (23), look to carry the momentum into the first of two weekends against teams below them in the standings.
Old Dominion carries a three-game winning streak into the Alamo City after a 6-5 victory over in-state rival VCU at home Tuesday. After dropping the opener against UAB last week, ODU outscored the Blazers 23-12 over the final two games, claiming a 2-1 series victory.
Saturday's game this season's Salute to Service and Sunday is Sunday Fun day in which kids 12 and under can run the bases after the game.

• UTSA banged out a season high 23 hits and scored the most runs (25), which is the second highest total in school history, during Tuesday's 25-2 win over Lamar.
• The Roadrunners scored 13 runs in the first inning Tuesday, matching a school record.
• Every starting position player recorded at least one hit, while eight tallied two or more.
• Of the 15 hitters used, 12 scored at least once, while eight drove in at least one.
• As a team, UTSA is hitting .288, placing fifth in the league.
• Of all the qualified batters, Bryan Sturges (.349) and Dylan Rock (.344) rank eighth and 10th in C-USA.
