HOUSTON – The UTSA softball team dropped a 7-0 decision to Houston Baptist Wednesday evening.
The Roadrunners fall to 9-11 on the season and the Huskies improve to 9-6.
Houston Baptist scored first with a run in the top of the third. Janak was walked and Bullen singled to right field. Lotz reached on a fielder's choice as runners advanced. Sydlik singled to right as Janak scored, putting the Huskies on the board.
In the top of the fourth, HBU scored three more runs to take a 4-0 lead. The Huskies had three hits from on three singles.
After a hit by pitch and a single down the left line, Houston Baptist added another run in the fifth.
The Huskies tacked on the final two runs in the sixth.
The Roadrunners recorded three hits by Celeste Loughman. Bailee Baldwin and Kaitlin Lopez, while HBU recorded 10 hits.
Marena Estell fell to 1-3 on the season.
The Roadrunners return to action on March 9 when they host UAB for the conference opener. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 1 p.m. at Roadrunner Field.
