Baseball hosts Missouri in Tuesday Tilt

SAN ANTONIO – Fresh off the first series win over Rice in program history, UTSA returns home for a four-game week, beginning with Missouri Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Roadrunner Field. 
 
UTSA (11-13, 3-3 Conference USA) posted a 3-1 record last week, earning a midweek win at Houston Baptist, before claiming the first two games at Rice. 
 
This is the first-ever meeting between the Roadrunners and Tigers and the second SEC opponent of the season. UTSA visited Auburn, which was the first meeting between the schools as well.

UTSA Tidbits

  • Prior to Friday, UTSA was 2-15 all-time against Rice in Houston and never won two games in a row. Going back to last season, they carried a three-game winning streak into the finale, after claiming wins Friday and Saturday.
  • The Roadrunners hit .333 (49-147) as a team in four games, including 11 doubles, six triples and two home runs.
  • Aldo Buendia led the team in hitting at .538 (7-13) and seven other hitters recorded a .300 average or higher during the four-game road swing in Houston.
  • Karan Patel posted his third quality start of the season, allowing two runs in 7.0 innings of work. He earned the win Friday, scattering five hits, striking out five and no walks.
  • Slater Foust picked up his team best fourth win Saturday, holding the Owls to two runs on five hits, two walks and striking out four in 5.2 innings of work.

 
About Missouri

  • The Tigers enter Tuesday's clash winning four of their last five games. They took two of three from No. 20 Ole Miss over the weekend, including an eight run, 10 hit performance in the rubber match of the three-game set Sunday.
  • They remain in San Antonio after Tuesday's game and face Incarnate Word Wednesday, before heading to College Station for a SEC series against the Aggies of Texas A&M starting Friday.
