SAN ANTONIO – Winners of a season-high four straight matches, UTSA women's tennis will hit the road for a two-match road swing over the weekend, traveling to face Columbia on Friday at 11 a.m. in Las Vegas, before facing host UNLV at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
UTSA (10-8) has won four consecutive matches and sport an 8-4 record over its last 12 matches. The Roadrunners have earned a 54-44 record in singles and a 25-19 mark in doubles.
UTSA has been led in doubles by junior Kylee Kato (Kahului, Hawaii) and freshman Jasmin Starr (Templestowe, Victoria, Australia), who own a 10-4 record. Freshman Sophie Omoworare (Plano, Texas) and senior Charleen Tiwari (Perth, Australia) have combined to post a 7-3 record, with Omoworare teaming with Catalina Cabrique (Bogata, Colombia) to post a 3-1 record.
Laura Cabrera (Barcelona, Spain) and Mariah Plauth (Florianopolis, Brazil) have teamed six times, with Diya Menon teaming with Plauth to go 1-0 and with Omoworare to post a 2-0 mark.
In singles, Carbrera and Kato each have 10 wins. Plauth and Starr sport nine wins, with Tiwari going 5-7, Cabrique 5-4 and Omowoare 4-6. Menon has earned a 2-2 record.
