SAN ANTONIO -- The UTSA women's tennis team won six of seven points to post a 6-1 win over Missouri State to win its second straight match, on Tuesday afternoon at the UTSA Tennis Center.
"We came out on all cylinders today," UTSA Coach Ki Kroll said. "I am very happy with our performance. We keep improving with each match, which adds to our confidence. We're already looking forward to getting back out there on Thursday."
UTSA (8-8) won its second consecutive match with a 6-1 result over Missouri State (7-7). The Roadrunners won five of six singles points and earned a win in the double point.
Freshman Jasmin Starr won her singles point in the lead role and teamed with Kylee Kato to lead their doubles match when the point was clinched. Kato, Laura Cabrera, Mariah Plauth and Charleen Tiwari each earned singles points. Tiwari and Plauth paired to win their doubles match and Sophie Omoworare - a freshman out of Plano, Texas - and Catalina Cabrique earned a 6-0 win in their doubles test.
UTSA will host Southern Miss on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the UTSA Tennis Center.
