DALLAS – Marie Benson was named to the 2019 All-Conference USA Second Team, announced by the conference office on Monday.
This is the first time Benson has been a member of the all-conference team. The last time a Roadrunner was on the team was the 2016-17 season.
The Waco, Texas, native finished her third season at UTSA averaging 15.2 points and 10.7 rebounds, which is a single-season school record, 1.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.4 blocks per game. The junior posted her 600th rebound against Marshall and ranks fifth in rebounds at UTSA with 680. She is 17 points shy of 1,000 (983) and ranks 16th all-time as a Roadrunner.
Benson led the team in scoring, field goal attempts, free throw attempts and made, rebounds, steals and blocked shots. She also finished second in the conference in rebounds and blocked shots.
