Baseball hosts Texas State in Tuesday Tilt

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – UTSA (7-5) host Texas State (7-4) Tuesday at Roadrunner Field with the first pitch is at 4 p.m.
 
The Roadrunners won seven of their last 10 games and completed a 2-2 week with a 7-2 win over Bradley at home Sunday. Over seven-plus strong innings of work, Slater Foust dominated on the mound allowing two runs on four hits and three walks, while striking out four in the longest outing of his career.
 
The Braves took the first two games of the three-game weekend set, securing a 4-3 win in 11 innings Friday and holding on for a 3-2 victory Saturday.
 
UTSA opened the week with a 10-7 victory over No. 19 Texas in Austin. The first triumph over the Longhorns in 12 years dating back to a 2008 win, this was the fourth all-time win in Austin for the Roadrunners.
 
Through the first three weeks of the season, UTSA ranks 35th in RPI, which is the highest of any of the 12 Conference USA teams.

  • Bryan Sturges stole three bases in four attempts, while both Jonathan Tapia and Bryan Arias went 2-for-2 in the theft department.
