Men's Tennis faces Lamar on Sunday

SAN ANTONIO -- Winners of four of five matches to open the dual-match season, the UTSA men's tennis team will travel to face Lamar on Sunday at 12 p.m. 

UTSA (4-1) has won 11 consecutive points over its last two matches, both sweeps, besting Nicholls and New Orleans on the road last week. The Roadrunners opened the year with wins over Prairie View A&M, before falling at No. 8 Texas. 

The Roadrunners, under the direction of third-year head coach Rodrigo da Silva and assistant coach Dimitar Kutrovsky, have posted a 20-6 overall mark in singles and a 9-3 record in doubles. 

Junior Kai Breitbach (Kaarst, Germany) and sophomore Joao Ceolin (Palotina, Brazil) have alternated in the No. 1 singles role in the first five matches. Breitbach, ranked No. 66 in the ITA singles rankings, has posted a 2-2 mark in singles, while Ceolin sports a 3-1 mark. Ceolin has teamed with junior Juri Reckow (Hamburg, Germany) in doubles to go 3-1. Brietbach has formed a doubles pair with freshman Alan Sanson (Santiago, Chile) to go 2-1 as the No. 2 duo. Sanson is 3-0 i and Reckow sports a 4-1 mark in singles. 

Javier Gonzalez (San Fernado, Chile) has posted a 2-1 mark in singles and has formed a team with Javier Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) to post a 2-1 mark in the No. 3 spot. Gonzlaez is 2-1 and Rodriguez is 4-1 in singles. Junior Leon Hein (Hamburg, Germany) has posted a 2-0 mark in doubles with Rodriguez.
