SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's basketball team hosts Louisiana Tech on Saturday at 2 p.m. for the final Saturday home game of the season.
The Roadrunners (6-18, 1-11 C-USA) are led by Marie Benson, who's averaging 15.3 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. Tija Hawkins has averaged 14 points in the last three games with a season average of 12.6 ppg and 5.6 rebounds.
Louisiana Tech (14-11, 6-6 C-USA) is led by Kierra Anthony, averaging 24.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. The senior leads the conference in scoring and free throw percentage (88.5). The Lady Techsters have won their last four games, scoring 74 points or more.
UTSA and Louisiana Tech are meeting for the 15th time in program history with the Lady Techsters leading the series 11-3. The last meeting between the two teams was Jan. 5, 2018 when UTSA lost 55-63 in Ruston, La. The Lady Techsters are 3-2 in the Convocation Center. The last time LA Tech was in the Alamo City was Jan. 7, 2017 when the Roadrunners won 63-61.
