SAN ANTONIO -- The UTSA women's basketball returns to action on Thursday, hosting Southern Miss (13-11, 5-6 C-USA) at 7 p.m. at the Convocation Center. The game will be streamed live on CUSA.tv.
UTSA (6-17, 1-10 C-USA) will then host Louisiana Tech on Saturday at the Convocation Center at 2 p.m.. The Roadrunners have been led by Marie Benson, who has emerged as one of the top players in the league, averaging 15.9 points and 11.1 rebounds a game. Tija Hawkins averages 14 points and 5.3 points per game, with Karrington Donald sporting 8.4 points and 2.9 rebounds per outing. Evelyn Omemmah averages 5.4 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
Southern Miss, winners of four of its last five games, is led by Shonte Hailes, who sports 11.8 points and 3.8 rebouds per game. Megan Brown averages 10.2 points and five rebounds, with Kelsey Jones averaging 8.1 points and 5.2 rebounds.
The Eagles lead the series with UTSA, 7-1, including a 2-1 mark in the Convocation Center.
