Sanson claims singles win at No. 8 Texas

AUSTIN, Texas -- UTSA men's tennis freshman Alan Sanson (Santiago, Chile) won the lone singles match for the Roadrunners in a matchup at No. 8 Texas, with the Longhorns winning 6-1 at the Texas Tennis Center on Wednesday. 

UTSA (2-1) fell to eighth-ranked Longhorns (5-0) in six of seven matches, with Sanson claiming the win in the sixth spot, 7-5, 6-2 over Johnny Goodwin. UTSA used the doubles teams of Juri Reckow (Hamburg, Germany) and Joao Ceolin (Palontina, Brazil), Sanson and Kai Breitbach (Kaarst, Germany), and Javier Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) and Javier Gonzalez (San Fernando, Chile). 

The Roadrunners will return to action on Friday, traveling to face Nicholls State at 2 p.m. CT.
