SAN ANTONIO -- The UTSA men's tennis team, winners of two straight to open the dual-match season, will travel to face No. 8 Texas at 1 p.m. at the Texas Tennis Center.
UTSA (2-0) will face Texas (4-0) in its first road challenge of the 2019 season after posting a doubleheader win over Prairie View A&M on Friday at the UTSA Tennis Complex. Texas has opened the year with wins over Ole Miss, SMU, Washington and Miami (Fla.).
The Roadrunners have been led by junior Kai Brietbach (Kaarst, Germany) and sophomore Joao Ceolin (Palotina, Brazil). Brietbach and Alan Sanson (Santiago, Chile) are 1-0 in their doubles matches, with Ceolin off to a 2-0 mark and Breitbach a 1-1 stretch in singles. Javier Gonzalez (San Fernando, Chile), Juri Reckow (Hamburg, Germany) and Javier Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) each went 2-0 last weekend in singles. Ceolin and Reckow are 1-0 in doubles, with Gonzalez and Rodriguez 2-0 also in doubles.
