Henson named HoopDirt.com National Coach of the Week

SAN ANTONIO – After a pair of wins over at the Convocation Center last week, UTSA men's basketball coach Steve Henson has been named Coach of the Week by HoopDirt.com, it was announced on Monday. 
 
The 2017-18 Conference USA Coach of the Year, Henson helped direct the Roadrunners to a perfect week with wins over Charlotte and Old Dominion, spurring UTSA's ascent to first place in the C-USA standings. 
 
UTSA's win over Old Dominion pitted two of the top teams in the league in a battle for first place. ODU took an 18-point lead with 4:33 left in the game before the Roadrunners roared back with a 22-4 run to take a 74-73 lead behind a game-winning 3-pointer from sophomore guard Keaton Wallace with 15 seconds left. 
 
Henson, who took over the helm of the Roadrunners in 2016-17 after a five-year run as an assistant at Oklahoma and the previously seven seasons at UNLV. Henson led UTSA to a school-record 11 league wins in 2017-18. 
 
UTSA (12-9, 6-2 C-USA) will return to action on Thursday, traveling to face preseason favorite Western Kentucky (11-10, 4-4 C-USA) at 7 p.m. CT on STADIUM on Facebook. The game will also be broadcast live on Ticket 760 AM, with the Voice of the Roadrunners, Andy Everett, calling the action.
