SAN ANTONIO – UTSA baseball will play host to a pair of scrimmages during the fall practice season, Coach Jason Marshall announced.

New NCAA rules, applicable in the fall of 2018, allow Division I teams to play two fall scrimmages against outside opponents without it counting against the 56-game spring schedule. UTSA will host Lamar on Oct. 27 at 12 p.m. and McLennan Community College at 1 p.m. on Nov. 3 at Roadrunners Field.

The pair of scrimmages are part of UTSA's fall practice schedule, which openers on Sept. 23 with a 5 p.m. intrasquad scrimmage.

UTSA is coming off a strong 2018 season that saw the Roadrunners get a program-record four players selected in the MLB Draft. The Roadrunners return several standouts from 2018, including Bryan Arias, who was named the top hitter in the California League over the summer.
