UTSA adds Zoie Reyna to 2019 signing class

SAN ANTONIO —UTSA Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Aaron Fox announced Wednesday that Zoie Reyna has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Roadrunners beginning with the 2019-20 season.
 
Reyna is a three-time regional qualifier in both track & field and cross country and she was a state qualifier in cross country as a junior at Kingwood Park High School. She won district and area championships in the 800 meters, clocking a personal-best 2:20.64 at the 2018 Class 5A Area 22/22 Championship. The district runner-up in the 1,600m with a school record 5:25.43 in 2018, she also finished second in the event at the area meet.
 
"We're excited to add Zoie Reyna to the Roadrunner Family," Fox said. "She's an accomplished runner with a high ceiling, plus she's an outstanding student. She will be a great addition to our program."
 
Reyna helped the Panthers' 4x800m relay team finish fourth at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays with a 9:56.12 clocking and she anchored the 4x400m relay quartet to a district runner-up showing as a junior. She was voted track & field team MVP in 2018 and was a team captain in cross country as a senior. A National Science Honor Society member, she will graduate with honors in 2019.
 
Reyna is the third announced member of UTSA's 2019 signing class, joining men's signees Oquendo Bernard and Jack Turner.
