SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's basketball team is set to host Utah State on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Convocation Center.
All-time Series
The Roadrunners and the Aggies are meeting for the third time in program history. The last time the two teams met was March 9, 2013 when UTSA won 80-72. Both teams were playing in the WAC at that time.
Scouting UTSA
UTSA (3-5) enters the contest after a 98-54 loss to No. 9 Texas on Nov. 28 at the Frank Erwin Center.
Marie Benson and Barbara Benson led the team with 14 and 13 points, respectively, as the Roadrunners shot 37.5 percent from the field.
Ryann Stearns hit 100 from the arch in her fourth double-digit scoring game.
UTSA has victories over Concordia Texas, UTRGV and Weber State so far this season.
Scouting Utah State
Utah State (2-5) comes into Wednesday after a 61-54 loss to Portland.
Shannon Dufficy led the Aggies with 19 points and 14 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. She leads the team averaging 14.9 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.
Olivia West tied the team lead in assists with six, while junior guard Eliza West also garnered six.
The Aggies shot 38.7 percent from the field and posted 47 rebounds.
Utah State has wins over Washington State (72-61) and Northern New Mexico College (106-35).
