Roadrunners host UTSA Thanksgiving Classic

SAN ANTONIO – UTSA women's basketball hosts the 2018 UTSA Thanksgiving Classic Friday, Nov. 23 and Sunday, Nov. 25 at the Convocation Center.

All-time series
UTSA and IUPUI are facing each other for the first time in program history. The Roadrunners and the Wildcats are meeting for the second time with UTSA leading the series 1-0. The last time the two teams competed against each other was Dec. 30, 2007.
 
Scouting UTSA
The Roadrunners (2-3) enter the weekend after a 68-60 loss to Texas State on Tuesday. Marie Benson led the team with her second double-double of the season with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
 
UTSA shot 72 percent from the free throw line, while Texas State shot 45.3 percent from the field.
 
Scouting IUPUI
The Jaguars (3-1) enter the contest after a loss to Wisconsin on Monday. Sophomore Macee Williams scored a career-high 31 points as IUPUI fell, 65-64 in overtime.
 
IUPUI shot 34.5 percent from the field, while the Badgers shot 38.6 percent.
 
The Jaguars have wins over Purdue Northwest (101-40), Ole Miss (66-58) and UT Martin (73-72).
 
Scouting Weber State
Weber State (1-1) is coming off an 89-73 loss to Portland.
 
The Wildcats shot 38.0 percent from the field and posted 38 rebounds, while Portland shot 49.2 percent from the field.
 
Jaiamoni Welch-Coleman led Weber State with 23 points and nine assists. Kayla Watkins followed behind with 21 points and seven rebounds, while Dominique Williams had the game-high 12 rebounds.
 
Food drive
UTSA is having a food drive at women's basketball games through Nov. 25 that benefits the San Antonio food bank. Fans who bring items to Sunday's games will receive $3 off one ticket at the door.
 
Friday's games will be free admission.
