Softball announces 2019 schedule

SAN ANTONIO –UTSA softball is set to appear on 37 different dates in the 2019 schedule, announced on Friday by head coach Michelle Cheatham.

"One of the main focuses of the upcoming season is learning how to compete when not in the comfort of our home facility," Cheatham said. "The pre-conference schedule will give us the opportunity to challenge this team with improving in that area. Great teams compete at the same level regardless of the venue and learn how to be comfortable in uncomfortable circumstances. We are excited about the level of play that we will be competing against throughout this schedule both at home and on the road."

The 17 home games, which features eight opponents, is highlighted by Baylor, BYU, Texas State and Incarnate Word and conference foes, UAB, Middle Tennessee, Louisiana Tech and UTEP.

The Roadrunners will appear in four tournaments, including the Texas State Tournament (Feb. 7-10), the Scrap Yard Tournament (Feb. 15-17), the Lamar Tournament (Feb. 22-24) and the Judi Garman Classic (Feb. 28-March 2). In the Judi Garman Classic hosted by Cal State Fullerton, UTSA will face Tennessee, Auburn, Cal State Northridge, Fresno State and Cal State Fullerton.

UTSA will travel to Marshall (March 23-24), Incarnate Word (April 3), Southern Miss (April 6), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (April 17), North Texas (April 19-20), Baylor (April 30) and Western Kentucky (May 4-5) throughout the season.
