SAN ANTONIO —UTSA head women's golf coach Summer Batiste announced Thursday that she has signed Camryn Carreon to a National Letter of Intent. The San Antonio native will join the Roadrunners beginning with the 2019-20 season.
"I'm thrilled to announce the signing of Camryn Carreon for the 2019 class," Batiste said. "It's always exciting to add the best player in San Antonio, one who loves UTSA and their city, to our roster. Camryn is a fierce competitor with winning experience and a solid foundation in every aspect of her game. She's going to make an immediate impact on our program. We look forward to watching her grow as a player and a young woman here at UTSA."

2018 San Antonio Express-Newsand Golf San Antonio Player of the Year … three-time all-state performer … TAPPS 6A state runner-up with a 146 (76-70) as a junior … district/regional champion after carding a 139 (72-67) … posted five wins and a 73.8 stroke average her junior season … placed third at state in 2017 to help lead the Shamrocks to the team title … San Antonio Express-NewsSuper Team selection as a sophomore … finished eighth at the state tournament as a freshman … two-time Greater San Antonio Junior Championship individual medalist, including in 2018 with a 212 (71-70-71).
