SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's basketball team hosts UTRGV tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the Convocation Center.
The Roadrunners (1-2) enter the contest after two losses at the Seton Hall Tip-off Nov. 10-11. UTSA fell to UMBC, 72-58 and Seton Hall, 84-53.
Marie Benson led the team with 30 points and 14 rebounds on the weekend, which earned her a spot on the Seton Hall Tip-off all-tournament team. Tija Hawkins followed behind with 25 points and 14 rebounds. The Roadrunners shot 35.5 from the field against UMBC and 30.6 percent at Seton Hall.
UTRGV (1-1) comes into the competition after a 59049 loss to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Amara Graham leads the team averaging 14 points per game, followed by Krisynthia Sampson who posted a 9.0 points per game average and 5.0 rebounds average.
This will be the 27th time in program history for these two teams to meet. UTSA currently leads the series 19-7. The last time the Roadrunners played the Vaqueros was Dec. 2, 2017 when UTRGV won, 70-58.
