SAN ANTONIO – UTSA Athletics participated in the College Football Foundation's Extra Yard for Teachers initiative. Local schools submitted video applications and the 10 winning schools were chosen by UTSA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representatives last month. The winning selections were honored at the Roadrunners football game on Nov. 10 against FIU.
The area schools selected to receive $1,000 in Michaels gift cards through this program were: Longfellow Middle School, Davis Middle School, Brauchle Elementary School, Dr. Joe Ward Elementary School, El Dorado Elementary School, Myers Elementary School, Kay Franklin Elementary School, Fox Tech Elementary School, Lamar Elementary School and Helotes Elementary School.
