Over the next 19 minutes the Roadrunners produced six shots and two corner kicks, but were unable to find the back of the UTEP net as the two squads played level into overtime.
UTSA controlled possession in the early minutes of the game, producing two quick shots and a corner. However, the Miners balanced and eventually tilted the field in their favor throughout the middle stages of the half before the Roadrunners closed the period strong.
