Soccer comes up short to LA Tech

RUSTON, La. – The UTSA soccer team fought a hard battle, but came up short to Louisiana Tech, 3-2 Sunday afternoon at the Lady Techster Soccer Complex.
 
UTSA (5-8-1, 1-5-1 C-USA) combined for a total of 10 shots on goal and 19 shots total.
 
In the 18th minute of the game, the Lady Techsters (11-5-1, 4-3-1 C-USA) made a shot from the left side of the goal and found the far-right corner.
 
LA Tech found the goal once again, when the ball was tapped in off a cross from the right side in the 33rd minute.
 
Just a couple of minutes later, they found the net off a corner kick.
 
In the 60th minute of the game, Marianne Hernandez scored her second goal of the season off a free kick from right outside the box.
 
Just three minutes later, UTSA found the net off a corner kick. Melissa Finley headed the ball into the net off Lexi Bolton's corner.
 
The remainder of the game continued to be a battle for the ball.
 
The Roadrunners return to the field on Thursday when they host Old Dominion for the Kick Out Cancer game. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
